Stephen E. Henry

Stephen E. Henry, a life long New Mexico resident, worked for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish from 1978 to 2003 until his retirement. He held the positions of wildlife conservation officer, wildlife disease specialist, fisheries biologist, Assistant Division Chief and Division Chief of the Fisheries Management Division, and Southwest Area Operations Division Chief. Henry is an active member in many local wildlife conservation organizations. He is currently serving as president of the Wild Turkey Sportsmen Association-Las Cruces, Secretary on the Board of Directors for the National Wild Turkey Federation-New Mexico Chapter, and board of directors of the Dona Ana County Associated Sportsmen. He is a member of the Audubon Society, World Wildlife Fund, National Wildlife Federation, New Mexico Wildlife Federation, and the Nature Conservancy.

Mr. Henry received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, from New Mexico State University in 1972. He also earned a Master of Science degree, Veterinary Pathology, from Colorado State University in 1976. Henry continues to pursue his love of wildlife, through outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, camping, and as a volunteer laborer for wildlife and habitat improvement projects with the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in and around the southwestern part of the state.
