Applying to hunt on the Preserve is as simple as entering our lottery. Lottery chances are available at $25.00 each for a mature bull or either sex hunt. Lottery chances for antlerless hunts are $10.00 each. You may purchase chances online, by phone, or through the mail. Always save your receipt with your unique lottery number. Your purchase of a lottery chance will enter you into a computerized drawing. You may purchase one chance per hunt code and enter as many hunt codes as you'd like. Funds raised by this lottery help support the Preserve and all of its activities. Entries must be received by midnight on March 19, 2014. Application for the VCNP elk lottery draw does not require the purchase of a State Game-hunting or a State Game-hunting and Fishing license.
The state quota will be applied to this lottery: A) 84% of draw licenses are awarded to New Mexico residents; B) 10% of draw hunt licenses are awarded to residents and non-residents who contract with a New Mexico registered outfitter; C) 6% of draw hunt licenses are awarded to non-residents who choose not to use a New Mexico registered outfitter . Only New Mexico residents may apply for antlerless hunts.
Your purchase of a lottery chance will enter you into a computerized drawing. You may purchase only one ticket per hunt code, but you may apply for more than one hunt code.
