Q:What accommodations are there?

A: Primitive camping in a designated area will be offered on the preserve at no additional cost. More developed campgrounds are available in the Santa Fe National Forest and Bandelier National Monument. Other lodging can be found in the communities of Jemez Springs, and Los Alamos and La Cueva.

Q:If I don’t win, can I get a refund of my entry fees for the lottery?

A: No. The lottery chances are not refundable. This lottery helps support the management of the Preserve and all of its activities.

Q:Will you give us any pointers as to where to go for a photo?

A: Yes. We will provide you with a list of locations we recommend you check out during the orientation meeting.

Q:What kind of vehicle do you recommend I bring?

A: A 4x4 would be best, but a high clearance vehicles will work. We have dirt roads and depending on the conditions they can become more than a car or van can safely navigate.
