
Skiing and Snowshoeing Rules
Be Safe
- Downhill traffic has right of way; yield the track
- File and stay with your travel plan
- Carry and utilize water, food and layered clothing
- Do not attempt to confront or feed wildlife
- Plan twice as much time for your return trip - It will take twice as much time coming back to your vehicle as it did going out
- Comply with all safety and warnings signs
- If caught in a white-out, stay put until it passes
- Have an emergency plan
Respect the Resource
- Take only pictures; leave only tracks
- Pack out your trash
- No pets are allowed on the Preserve; working assistance animals only
- Stay away from residential structures
- Respect all closured areas
Act Responsibly
- Check in, pay fees, file travel plan
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Stay within designated activity boundaries
- Tracked sections are for skiers
- Packed paths are for snowshoers
- Help/ report others in trouble
- Return to the staging area by 3pm
- Don't forget to check out
Be Aware
- Skiing and snowshoeing activities are inherently dangerous and risky endeavors. You must assume all responsibility for any injuries or health risks involved
- Should Search and Rescue be required, you agree to assume all financial responsibility
- Be aware of and know how to deal with the signs of hypothermia
- The Trust is not responsible for any lost or stolen property
