Hunting Rules

• All hunters are permitted one guest. Lottery winners will be allowed a guest at no additional charge. An additional $600 guest charge, to cover meals and lodging, will be added to the Deluxe Hunting Package.
• Guests are in addition to authorized outfitters.
• Outfitters may be used at the hunter's discretion. A listing of licensed outfitters can be found on the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish web site.
• All outfitters must be registered with the Valles Caldera Trust.
• Hunters and their guests are required to attend a hunting and safety orientation.
• Scouting is allowed after the mandatory orientation.
• Hunters are permitted one vehicle per license. Vehicles are restricted to open roads identified on the hunt map.
• Hunters are permitted to use horses. If used, hunter's must provide pelleted feed while on the Preserve to prevent the spread of noxious weeds.
• Camping is available on the nearby public lands, but is not currently permitted on the Preserve.
• The Trust reserves the right to withdraw access to any hunter for violating any rules or restrictions.
• All state and federal laws and all New Mexico Department of Game and Fish regulations apply.
