Welcome to our interactive web site; the portal to collaborative planning for public access and use of the Valles Caldera National Preserve. The Valles Caldera Trust is seeking your input to build a range of alternative levels of development for public access and use of the Preserve. Each alternative will consider six elements: Access, Capacity, Activities, Development, Financing and Values.
This site has three main pages.
- “Welcome” – the introduction page
- “Register” - You must register to submit your comments to the forum. You can view and download information without registering.
- “Compare and Comment” This page contains two parts “Information” and “Element Tables”. We encourage you to read the narratives and view the maps before opening the element tables and providing comments. The element tables are provided as a reference to aid in commenting. They do not provide a complete description of the alternative levels of development that may be considered for each element.
The Public Access and Use Plan or PAUP will be one of the most important planning efforts undertaken by the Trust. This plan will result in decisions regarding development of the Preserve in support of programs and activities for recreation, education, and scientific as well as commercial endeavors. At this time we are asking stakeholders to do more than comment; we are asking you to roll up your sleeves and help us build alternatives for public access and use of the Preserve.
You must register to enter your feedback in the database. You may view the information, documents, and other participant’s comments without registering.
You may always comment directly to the Trust by surface mail or email. Use this contact information to request hard copies of the information provided on public access and use. |
